Edwin Dzintars born June 29th, 1938 quietly passed surrounded by family. Survived by his daughter Dawn Noeldechen and her husband Jon, and three grandchildren along with his son Lance Casey and his husband Mike Casey.

Edwin raised two kids as the only parent, he survived war in Latvia moving at the age of 9 with his parents who brought him and his brother Victor to America, and later he survived the loss of his parents (Zenja and Peter), wife (Parsla) and brother (Victor).

His life was not defined by his disability, he never accepted life on the terms of what others thought he should do. And he was never afraid to challenge others, when he thought he was being taken advantage of. He fixed his own home, building extensions despite his handicap, and he took pride in his passion of gardening and planting fruit trees.

He taught his children never to accept another’s assumption of them, to never back down from authority if they believed the authority figure was not being ethical or fair. He believed having a voice was vitally important and most of all he taught his kids how to survive in harsh circumstances that life at times gives.

Forever he will be loved and be missed, he was a father, mother and friend.
